Nilao Posted June 18, 2022 Share Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) Sid, I have AGM batteries so I set the CC bulk charge voltage to 14.6 volts as recommended for AGM deep cycle recommended voltage for bulk charge and 13.8 for float, the issue is the voltage is going up to 14.9 and still not kicking out of cc bulk mode. Am I missing something? I know that's close to off causing the electrolyte to boil and vent so I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it went straight to float charging. If you were reading a higher voltage on an external meter, it would likely have explained the behavior as a calibration problem--as the inverter regulates from the shown voltage. But as you were reading from the inverter LCD, that means the inverter is at fault. Checked the code/math/hysteresis allowances, and I do notice that the internal difference between 14.9v and 14.3v is 1-2 counts above the hardcoded hysteresis--which very easily could explain the issue. Mea culpa for not accounting for that! I will fix this in the next firmware release, where the hysteresis will be precalculated based on the system voltage--so each system voltage (12/24/36/48) has a properly scaled hysteresis. Hopefully as soon as I finish the 12kw specification manual, I can get back to firmware and get the 1.2r0 release tested enough that I can consider it safe to release. This is why having tester in all possible uses is good. I doubt you have many people using one the way I do. Well I should say one who reports back on the forums here lol. Yeah, we don't have many at 12v. (We try to discourage that, honestly, as that's a lot of amps...and we really can't guarantee the inverter to full load in 12v setup.) Let's see what I can do this week. Nearly done on the 12kw spec manual, should be able to get back to code shortly...and get that issue fixed. Plus a bunch of other fixes and improvements. I'll never be taking it to full load. Most it'll ever see at once would be 1500 watts and that's with the engine running to supply 170 amps of power to keep from taxing the batteries too hard. We do have one other customer who's reportedly taken it up to 4,500W without issues, but that's a lot of amps at 12v! I'll get the bugs sorted out in the code 😉. Sid Genetry Solar Posted July 13, 2022 Share Posted July 13, 2022 @NilaoSo obviously it took me way over a week...but I finally got the spec manual stuff sorted out, and am back to code work. Got the charge routine tweaked a bit, and it's adjusted so now ANY counts above the setpoint will result in a lowered throttle. Will have another good customer test the firmware and charge function, and hopefully by this weekend I can either get you a Tech or release firmware version 1.2r0.
